This year I had the great joy of collaborating with Aliya on her thesis dance. Over the course of about 8 scenes this dance explores what it means to be a human animal and how the trash we create as humans is impacting the earth. Creating the music for this piece allowed me to push myself as a composer. I got more familiar with a variety of digital composition tools. I also enjoyed that I got to use sounds that usually aren't musical and then transform them into musical textures. The work shown here is still a work in progress. Aliya and I plan to further develop the piece later this summer
